Being an author can be something of a solitary life. I spend a lot of time alone at my desk writing, or plotting, or editing. I spend a lot of time in a world no one else has visited, with characters no one else knows, having conversations no one else has heard.
I love the chance to get out into the world and meet people. Meet other writers, and readers, and book lovers.
I have a number of upcoming appearances where we can meet:
On Saturday 22nd June, I’ll be running a Creative Writing and Collage workshop at The Messy Hare Gallery and Coffee Shop in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK.
This all-day workshop will consist of a morning of creating stories, characters, and worlds, inspired by artwork in the gallery. After a light lunch, we’ll be turning our words into collages, with assistance from artist Michele McDonald.
Our creations will then be displayed in a month-long exhibition at Burton Library.
Following on from the workshop and library exhibition, on Saturday 20th July, I’ll be hosting a write-in at Burton-on-Trent Library.
This free all-day event will be run as a drop-in, so you can come and spend all day with us, or just pop in for an hour or two. Meet and chat with other writers, brainstorm ideas, or join in with some word-sprints. I’ll be available to answer your questions about all things writing and publishing.
Find out more via the Facebook event page.
And on Saturday 21st September, Burton-on-Trent Library will be hosting their annual Author Day.
Along with other local authors, I’ll have a stall at the event where I will be selling and signing books.
If you’d like to come along and say hello, and maybe pick up a signed book, check out the Facebook event page.
I’d love to meet you!
