I was hoping that the end of this month would see me having finished plotting The Notary of Gotliss Street, and feeling completely prepared for NaNoWriMo next month. Not so much.
I haven’t finished the plotting, and there’s no way that I will manage to now. So, I’m actually heading into November with just a half plotted book. But, you know what? I’ve started NaNoWriMo (and won it) with a lot less than that before. So, am I worried? Not in the least.
The only bit that does concern me a little, is that we’re now heading into the half term holidays, and these run through into November. So, I’ll actually be starting NaNoWriMo a few days late, on either November 4th or 5th. Will I be able to catch up? Probably not. Does it matter? Nope.
I may not hit the 50,000 word target this time around, but if I end the month with 30,000 words, that’s 30,000 that I don’t have right now. I’d call that a win, either way.
